How i got here

Read Solve Focus Learning LLC was established to teach students who struggle to learn academic skills (reading, writing and math) and executive functions (sustain attention, social skills, organization, etc).
As an elementary special education teacher in U.S. public schools for 26+ years, I have seen many students who need more than their teachers have to give; more time, more attention, more movement, tailored instruction, and more. I have witnessed parents searching for answers about how to help their child at home or at school.
I am skilled at teaching students who:
- can say the letter sounds, but can’t read the word
- are having trouble remembering the alphabet or numbers
- read slowly
- read fluently, but struggle to understand
- are active and struggle to focus on learning academics
- reverse letters and numbers regularly after age 7
- work and work, but don’t make the expected progress
- find handwriting difficult
- avoid or seek sensory input
- have lots to say, but struggle to write it down
- struggle to complete a morning or bedtime routine
- learn something one day and forget it the next day
- find memorizing math facts difficult
- struggle to get out the correct materials for a task

My tutoring services are designed for students who are ready to engage in structured academic learning. If your child is not yet communicating verbally, I recommend connecting with a Speech-Language Pathologist first. If your child is frequently experiencing significant behavioral or emotional dysregulation — such as aggression or property destruction — a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) would be the most effective starting point. These professionals and I can complement each other well as your child grows.
